World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7th of April and since water is one of the most important supplies for our health, we want to briefly remind you why you should add drinking water to your daily routine.
It’s no magic bullet, but the benefits of water are MANY! Healthy people meet their fluid needs by drinking when thirsty, but it’s important to drink enough water even if you don’t feel thirsty, especially when you are more physically active or when it’s hot outside. If we talk about when to drink, the best way to tell if you are getting enough water is the color of your urine. If your urine is colorless, you are probably getting enough liquid. It’s suggested to drink water every 20-30 minutes, few sips, since by the time you become thirsty, you might already be slightly dehydrated. One of the reasons you should not wait to feel thirsty is that as your body ages, it is not as able to send thirst signals to your brain when you are dehydrated. Besides that water has many benefits for your health, from helping you maximize your physical performance, to having major effect on your brain function. There’s simply no reason you wouldn’t drink at least 2L (or 4 EQUA bottles) per day, after reading this ;)
If you find yourself among those, who drink water only when they’re thirsty, we have a small tip for you – carry a water bottle with you at all times and you’ll have easy access to water every minute of the day.
